With a rich history and a commitment to excellence, Nuy Winery is excited to embark on this new chapter with Basson’s expertise.
A Journey of Passion and Expertise
Basson’s journey in the world of winemaking began in 2002 at DTK Wines in Rawsonville. Over the years, he honed his skills and knowledge, ultimately becoming Winemaker/Cellar Master at TCB Wines in 2008, where he dedicated over a decade to perfecting his craft. In 2019, Basson assumed the role of winemaker at Lutzville Vineyards in the West Coast region, earning numerous prestigious awards for his exceptional winemaking skills along the way.
His impressive portfolio includes a diverse range of wines, from still white and red wines to natural sweet, fortified, sparkling, and organic wines. Basson’s dedication to continuous learning is evident in his qualifications in business management, as well as his certifications from EKOV, Wine Training SA, and the Cape Wine Academy.
