Four Cousins Fiver Wine-based Cooler gets the Party Started

Posted on Apr 8, 2019 Leave a Comment on Four Cousins Fiver Wine-based Cooler gets the Party Started
Four Cousins Fiver

What a great way to get the party started. I loved trying out the new Fiver Range by Four Cousins as a starter beverage at a braai. It’s a wine based, ready to drink pop that’s only 5% alcohol – a much better alternative to beer ;) .

The Fiver comes in three flavours: Cool (apple and lime), Blush (strawberry and litchi), and Dry (Lemon). There’s a Fiver for everyone, whether you have a sweet tooth or prefer a drier style. I liked the Blush best.

Four Cousins Fiver

The refreshing, wine-based Fiver is infused with delicious fruit flavours. Proud member of the Four Cousins family, this “fifth cousin” with the fitting name is as authentic, quality craft as it comes.

Dressed in eye-catching mellow yellow, gorgeous green and perfect pink, the trio look sharp wherever you go. The handy bottles are easy to keep in your fridge and ideal for party get-togethers of friends or colleagues; refreshment when you’re out and about; or, a tasty reward at the end of a long day.

Did you know that Four Cousins is not just a marketing invention? The Retief cousins – Hennie, Neil, Bussell and Phillip – joined forces in the mid 1990’s. One after the other, after completing their studies, they joined the family farm, Van Loveren, and today they’re its driving force.

Their first big endeavour was introducing the Four Cousins range of wines in 2000. Fiver was launched in 2014. Today, apart from being known as South Africa’s favourite “vino-in-a-bottle”, Four Cousins has a brand home that is a landmark at the gateway to the town of Robertson.

Fiver by Four Cousins is available at leading retailers countrywide for around R79.99/six-pack or online by the case through www.vanloveren.co.za.

You can also share your Four Cousins memories online – be sure to tag Four Cousins on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/fourcousins/) and Twitter (@4CousinsWine). We’re also on Instagram. It’s a bling bottle of Italian Sparkling Wine 🙌💞 and it’s R500 a bottle 😜

It’s called Vino dell’Amore Petalo Pink Manzoni Moscato Rosé and
is an exclusive and very rare sweet sparkling rosé wine.

This rare grape variety was created by crossing Raboso Piave and Muscat of Hamburg. It has the fresh and fragrant character of the original grapes, a low alcohol content and a distinctive, pleasantly sweet taste. The colour is delicately pink, brilliant, with fine and lasting perlage.

The bouquet is intense and refined, characterised by aromas of roses, raspberry, ripe citrus fruits, and final notes of sage. It is sweet and elegant, harmonic and balanced, with a long aromatic persistence, with acidity and tannins balancing the sugar content.

Pair this sweet sparkling with Provolone Dolce cheese, fruit (apple and pear) and shortbread biscuits. @bottega_africa

Neil Ellis Wines is my 141st South African wine fa Neil Ellis Wines is my 141st South African wine farm visit. They have a “newish” wine tasting centre in Stellenbosch which is absolutely lovely with incredible views.

They didn’t start off like that though, owner Neil Ellis, started winemaking in 1984 and would source grapes from all over Stellenbosch to make his wine in a rented cellar space. Today, this wine has made a brand for itself and is synonymous with top-quality reds! Especially Cabernet Sauvignon.

More info on my blog, link in bio.

Check that swirl! It’s a Cinsaut 2016 from @neil Check that swirl! It’s a Cinsaut 2016 from @neilelliswines 😍

This distinctive style of Cinsaut pays tribute to the heritage of the South African wine industry. A limited release wine, it demonstrates the distinctiveness of specific vineyard sites.

The grapes were sourced from a south-west facing bush vine vineyard grown in decomposed granite and table mountain sandstone.

This wine spent 17 months in 500 l French oak barrels; 20% new, 20% 2nd fill and 60% older.

R315 a bottle available on the Neil Ellis website.
